Noel Fehily Delivers Another Brilliant Blog Posting
By UK Hot Tips
The From The Stables website that I am a member of had another good weekend with their new blog by top jockey Noel Fehily providing the goods once again.
He said his best ride of the day was the winner Actival and that although Loose Chips loved it round Kempton (3 wins from 3 rides) that Balder Success would win and later on Irving would be the one 2 beat.
He was right on all 3 counts and provided me with a win triple!
His actual quote was:
Heading to Kempton for four rides and would like to think I will have at least one winner this afternoon.
The best chance will be my first ride, Activial for Harry Fry. This horse ran really well when beaten by the Paul Nicholls horse Calipto, who is just about favourite for the Triumph Hurdle. It was always Harry’s plan to give him a break and bring him here and it has strengthened him up. I will be disappointed if he doesn’t win or go very close today and get in the Triumph picture himself.
In the novice chase I ride Loose Chips who absolutely loves it around here, actually I am 3 from 3 on him at Kempton! However, this is a tough race and I think it will be tough to beat both Balder Success and Fox Appeal if they run their races.
In the next I ride Germany Calling for the boss and a similar comment applies. He has a bit to find with the first two in the betting and I know Paul Nicholls thinks a lot of Irving and his form with Splash Of Ginge has worked out really well.
Then in the big chase, the BetBright, I ride Bury Parade for Paul Nicholls. He was very impressive at Ascot and on that form he is entitled to be favourite here. A couple of concerns here, the first is getting him to jump off which he didn’t do the time before and the start here (near the stables) is not ideal. The other is that the step up in trip to 3 miles, carrying 11st 12 in this ground will not be easy. However, I’m hopeful he will get in a nice rhythm and if he does I can see him being there or thereabouts at the finish.
Here he was right again as the horse came 2nd in the big chase at a price of 8.5 (Betfair).
So although he was only bullish about one of his own rides, Actival, who went on to win, he provided good information on the other runners in his other races which helped me and other readers decide where to place our bets.
When a jockey is telling you he doesn’t think his horse is strong enough to beat the favourites you have to listen and today I did.
